Want to utilize your skills in planning, organizing, or managing? Do you enjoy working with a committee dedicated to all-terrain activities?

Grand Forks ATV is seeking members interested in joining the team that turns the club’s wheels. Each term (1-2 years), we nominate and vote for members at our annual general meeting. Your executive members have been working to modernize the group by providing directors with an area of responsibility. This ensures the heartfelt reward of volunteering can be better recognized and volunteers get the opportunity to focus on an area that interests them. 

Seeking nominations for the following positions:

President
Leads the executive and oversees all operations of the club
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization 
  • Creating agenda for meetings and chair meetings  
  • Ensuring the organization meets goals and objectives by providing leadership and direction  
  • Creating and maintaining relationships with donors, volunteers, and other partners  
  • Seek funding and resources 
  • Ensuring the organization’s activities are compliant and in furtherance of its mission  
  • Leading, managing, and developing the organization’s employees, volunteers, and organizational culture  
Vice President
Supports the president in leading/overseeing the club 
  • Running board meetings and serving as a spokesperson in the absence of the president  
  • Assisting with the president’s duties and completing special tasks as requested  
  • Managing employees/volunteers and the daily activities of the organization  
  • Developing programs, mentoring staff and ensuring the organization meets its goals  
  • Working with the board and other executives to define the mission of the organization  
  • Preparing and presenting reports to the board and other stakeholder 
Treasurer
Manages all financial aspects of the society
  • Manage the organization’s bank account, cash flow, and bank statements  
  • Review and enforce financial policies and procedures  
  • Generate financial reports for the executive and other stakeholders  
  • Create a budget and monitor the organization’s spending and income  
  • Advise the board on financial strategy and fundraising  
Secretary
Maintains records and supports executive
  • Communicating with the board, management, and members  
  • Scheduling, giving notice, and preparing materials for meetings  
  • Taking and distributing minutes of meetings  
  • Maintaining and safeguarding the organization’s records, such as by-laws, board terms, and filing deadlines (Admin Folder)  
  • Following the laws for nonprofit organizations  
Directors at large
General assistance of directors and executive 

The director at large provides the opportunity to help out in different areas of the club.

Director of Events
Leads the events committee, hosts events for GF ATV 
  • Implement Grand Forks ATV events program  
  • Manage volunteers, employees, and equipment  
  • Oversee financial management of events  
  • Report to the board of directors  
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements  
  • Attract and meet with events committee members as necessary 
Director of Maintenance
Leads maintenance committee and maintenance of recreation sites & trails
  • Implement the Grand Forks ATV maintenance program   
  • Manage volunteers, employees, and equipment  
  • Oversee financial management of the program  
  • Report to the board of directors 
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements  
Director of Projects
Leads projects committee and manages all projects for the ATV society
  • Implement the Grand Forks ATV Projects program   
  • Manage volunteers, employees, and equipment  
  • Oversee financial management of projects  
  • Report to the board of directors  
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements 
Director of Rides
Leads Rides Committee, organizing and hosting GF ATV adventure rides and tours 
  • Implement Grand Forks ATV Ride Program  
  • Report to the board of directors  
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements  
  • Record and report maintenance requirements to the Director of Maintenance  
Committee Members
Members that focus on specific committee only

Each director role (Events, Rides, etc.) will require the help of a team. Committee members sit on and help our with a specific committee’s responsibilities.

Our executive members are provided with: 

  • Access to Office 365 tools with personalized ATV Club email address (yourname@grandforksatv.ca)
  • Ability to lead or assist (i.e. events, maintenance, rides, projects)  
  • Support from other executive members on tasks 
  • Opportunity to apply your skills toward a rewarding position on an active board 

Meeting Schedule

Different meetings are scheduled for different purposes, but in general we try to hold an executive meeting each month, and club meetings quarterly with our annual general meeting taking place prior to our second club meeting. Committees are free to meet as they see fit to perform required duties set out by the executive.

Expectations

Each position is very important, and we will require your involvement in regular monthly meetings to keep our team focused and moving forward. Grand Forks ATV has recently subscribed to the Office 365 business platform allowing for team collaboration. This is a very powerful tool that can be utilized in different ways. We also realize that not everyone likes online meetings, and not everyone can attend in-person meetings. Thus, we try to utilize online and in-person formats, and directors can set up their own team, meeting how and when they wish, provided it meets the expectations of the executive.
