Funding Update
We have received funding to move forward with safety improvements to our Trails of The North Fork. The original project was a 2014-2015 Job Creation Project that included improvements to six Recreation Sites in the North Fork Region and the establishment of Trails of the North Fork. The trails in the riding area were cleared and signed, with benches installed and points-of-interest recognized. Now ten years later, we will be upgrading these trails.
Riding Conditions
Current conditions on the trail are very dry and dusty. Industry has moved to short, early shifts and fire watch for any logging activity due to liability should a fire get started. Be extremely cautious when you are on the trail. Make sure you have a muffler with a spark arrestor, and do not stop in tall grassy areas. If you smoke, please watch your butts. Fire Bans are now in effect. On your quad, you should have, one spade, a small fire extinguisher, and a gallon of water. Before you go out, check Fire Bans and Restrictions – Province of British Columbia (gov.bc.ca). Remember Smokey the Bear says: Only YOU can prevent forest fires!
Events
The events committee has some great events coming up and we need your help. If you would like to volunteer to provide a ride for one of the events, please contact Randy or Teresa. We would prefer side by sides for these events.
